“He's a winner, he's a God damn sinner; when he dines I'm on the wrong side of the day.”

“We are OK;
In a misguided sadist way;
We are OK.

“I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for itself.”
―David Herbert Lawrence
Self-Pity (1929). Also in: The complete poems of D. H. Lawrence (1971 edition)
“People who treat other people as less than human must not be surprised when the bread they have cast on the waters comes floating back to them, poisoned.”
No name in the Street (1972)
“Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself - and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is.”
From the article "Jim Morrison: Ten Years Gone" by Lizze James - Creem Magazine, 1981. The interview published in the article was originally recorded in 1969.
