Bio: Dorothy Mae Ann Wordsworth was an English author, poet and diarist. She was the sister of the Romantic poet William Wordsworth, and the two were close for all of their lives. Wordsworth did not set out to be an author, and her writings consist only of a series of letters, diary entries, poems and short stories.

Quote of the day

We sacrifice to dress, till household joys And comforts cease. Dress drains our cellar dry, And keeps our larder clean; puts out our fires, And introduces hunger, frost and woe, Where peace and hospitality might reign. Dress changes the manners.
